About Designing Your Life Global
Designing Your Life Global (DYL Global) is a platform dedicated to helping individuals and organisations design meaningful lives and resilient careers in a rapidly changing world.
Rooted in the life design methodology developed at Stanford University, DYL Global brings together programs, partnerships, and a growing network of facilitators to expand the life design movement across Asia and beyond.
Through workshops, leadership programs, institutional collaborations, and coaching certification, DYL Global equips people with practical tools to navigate uncertainty, explore new possibilities, and design lives that integrate work, purpose, and wellbeing.

Origin Story
Designing Your Life began at Stanford University when designers Bill Burnett and Dave Evans created a course that applied design thinking principles to life and career decisions.
Instead of asking students “What do you want to be when you grow up?”, they reframed the question:“What do you want to grow into?”
The course quickly became one of the most popular electives at Stanford and eventually grew into a global movement through books, workshops, and university programs.
Today, the Designing Your Life methodology is taught in universities, organisations, and communities around the world.
In 2020, Singapore design leader Mark Wee was introduced to Bill Burnett and began exploring how the life design approach could address the challenges people face in navigating careers, identity, and purpose in an increasingly complex and rapidly changing world.
Inspired by the strong response to early workshops in Singapore, the two co-founded the Designing Your Life Institute in Singapore, with the vision of expanding the life design movement across Asia.
Building on this work, DYL Global was created to scale the life design movement through programs, partnerships, and a growing network of facilitators across the region.

Our Mission
We believe everyone should have the tools and confidence to design a meaningful life.
Our mission is to bring life design principles to individuals, organisations, and institutions — helping people navigate change with creativity, resilience, and purpose.
In Singapore, we aim to equip a tipping point of 20% of the population — about 700,000 people — with life design tools and mindsets, contributing to a cultural shift toward greater creative confidence, adaptability, and human flourishing.
